Originating in Persia over 4000 years ago, polo perfectly embodies the magical alchemy between horses and humans. It pits two teams of four riders – each with a mallet in one hand – against each other, the aim being to score by driving the ball into the opposition’s goal.

The Chantilly Polo Club is the leading polo centre in Western Europe: in season, it can house up to 500 horses. Some 500 matches are held there every year. A polo school trains future riders, teaching them technique and instilling in them a love of the game.

Prince Louis Murat, founder of Chantilly Golf Club, and the Duke of Guiche, creator of Mortfontaine Golf Club, had two fundamental things in common: a passion for the sport and an eye for elegance. This resulted in two outstanding courses designed by British architect Tom Simpson in the early 20th century in a stunning natural setting: the Château de Chantilly and the Parc Régional de l’Oise. These two courses strike a balance between aesthetic quality and competition.

The Chantilly Pony Club is open to children aged 3 and over, whether beginners or skilled riders. Activities on offer include horse-ball, polo lessons and horse-riding in a stunning natural environment.
